Life goes on...
The recent tragic events that begrieved Britain encourage us, here in Dinard, to carry on and strengthen the special relationship that has been linking us to the British for over fifteen years.
British cinema questions reality. Be it through comedies, dramatic features or thrillers, the documentary (and documented) aspect is never left out. Behind Billy Elliott’s tears, the « struggle » of The FullMonty’s four jobless characters, the loneliness of the Girl with a PearlEarring, lies the difficulty of being happy. But British cinema has a way to show life in a simpler, jollier light.
The 2005 edition will not prove an exception to the rule. For our greatest pleasure, a lot of the films we have selected so far end on a happy note.
Our choice could be a way to show that life, cinema and art are stronger than bombs.
